Over Half of Working Americans Think They’re Off Track for Retirement. Are You?

Feeling a bit off pace with your retirement savings? You’re not alone. A striking 56% of American workers feel they’re not where they should be, retirement savings-wise. Bankrate’s latest survey spills the beans: 37% reckon they’re severely behind, and for many, the dream retirement number looms at a hefty million dollars or more.

Online info plays a big role in these perceptions. Multiple online calculators throw around figures, suggesting the ideal savings based on age. They factor in everyday costs and unexpected ones like future healthcare.

Notable benchmarks? Having double your starting pay stashed away by your mid-thirties and as much as 10 times that when nearing seventy.
